Git + Amazon S3 = Cheap, incremental /home backups?
Although I haven’t been able to find anyone working on it, I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.
I’d gladly pay $2 or $3/month for a complete history of every file in my ~, forever. Add some encryption, maybe, and it’d be great. Reinstalled ubuntu? Just check out your home folder from Amazon, keep on trucking.
Remember, you heard it here first.
Edit: Here’s an excellent start, even if only for ZFS.
