Changes - Commercial Diff Software for Macs
Over the summer, while working at RBC, my manager introduced me to Beyond Compare, which quickly became a life saver since Eclipse’s default diff tool sucks so incredibly hard (Beyond Compare could use some scripting ability, tho).
Now that I think about it, I think a good diff tool should be up there in every developer’s toolkit, alongside good regex support in your editor, and a debugger. It is sorta ridiculous that there doesn’t seem to be a good open source solution yet outside of say gnu-diff (I haven’t heard of one yet, clearly it must not exist). For once, I can’t blame the really weird and quirky small-single-use-tool shareware market Apple seems to breed.
