The concept of “well done” does not exist here. “Well done” does not mean “burn the thing, and yet leave the inside pink”. I should just stop being a wuss and eat it like they do; its just, stuff that raw just goes against everything I was told as a child.
Im really going to miss buying fresh bread and croissants every morning. Yesterday we just stood gaping at a supermarkets cheese section, saying “its not fair” over and over again. In comparison, it always looks like North Americans hate food.
Paris is beautiful.
The metro is cheap, everywhere, and shockingly silent. I love the pop the doors make qs they open, after you swing the open-handle.
I can understand people finding French street etiquette a touch rude (we in Canadia always say sorry, for everything, at every moment), but whenever my extremely limited french fails me and I fall back on my sheepish “Je ne parle pas francais”, people have always been extremely nice. Almost everyone possess enough english to complete whatever transaction we are engaged in.
